You call yourself a spiritual/religious person yet the choices you make are pure evil. You dwell in breaking others spirits because misery loves company. But I won’t let you get the best of me. My role in life was chosen for me, it is my bigger purpose and I have much responsibility that goes along with it. I have a gift. My truth and honesty moves people and the bigger picture means I can move mountains. I know my purpose in life is huge. I know my role is a stepping-stone for what’s to come and in the big scheme of things is a true blessing. I’m not hungry for fame, connection yes but fame no.

I’ve learned many lessons through self-perseverance. I know that the work on ourselves is one of the most important jobs we have. We owe it to ourselves. Whatever we leave not fixed becomes poison in our lives and then becomes the person that we are. Our choices create our character. Who do you want to be?

Flaws become our differences. The way we embrace them is what confidence becomes. When we live from a rotten core, too blind to see the light of day, we isolate ourselves from everything real, normal, and beautiful life has to offer. Not one person in this world is “perfect”. I may feel broken from time to time but I always do my best. When others feel broken I do my best to have compassion and when it calls for it, empathy.

Nobody’s actions in life are personal. Everything is based from our own perceptions. We create our own realities. We hold on to situations and judge them from what it makes us feel. There are sad people in this world. You can’t save them, only they can save themselves. But we can use the situations and feelings they stir in us to propel us to a better future.

I came to the conclusion that love and compassion is my religion a couple of years ago. As I see strong believers in a faith around me make less then what I perceive as moral choices, I grow further and further away from what truth I once tried to understand in them. The only control we have in life is control over ourselves and the only way to change people is to lead by example. To be the example of happiness you must stand your ground and always act on your truth and honesty.

The people around us are the key to knowledge. By being the observers in our own lives we can take lessons home with us every night. Some people lead by a good example others lead by negative choice driven by manipulation, greed and ego. By being aware of all that goes on in our own worlds we have the choice to create our own life. We create our own set of beliefs through our own religion. Does it make a difference what religion we follow? Isn’t the basic idea of religion a guideline to leading a happy life? Then why do people of faith look down upon people that ask questions? I understand believing in something much bigger then we are but in what way does a person of lesser understanding for the bible become unworthy?

I'm a Religious person, I'm LDS or Mormon as you may call it.I go to Church Every Sunday, I read the Bible and Book of Mormon . I Do Beleive that God exists and there is a Heaven. I know that Jesus died for us. And we have a Heavenly Father.I know there is many religions out there but i don't think there is a right one. In our Religion we have Temples where we can be Sealed to our Familes forever and all enternity.I Beleive that we will never die agian after Jesus comes agian. I want to be able to live with Heavenly Father and the Lord agian which is why i'm doing my best to live by their example.

Before commenting on this blog, I was thinking ... what to write about religion? I find some meanings of what is religion! This meaning seemed the most appropriate:

Religion - A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons whom believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader.  Usually accepted to derive from ligare "bind, connect"; probably from a prefixed re-ligare, i.e. re (again) + ligare or "to reconnect".

I conclude that Beautiful Movements is my religion, and our leader is Kimberly, who teaches us the values and teachings through the practice of love, goodness, faith, self expression,  freedom, etc! I believe and I follow everything what I'm learning here.. I try to share with others what I learn and I try to do my best for change the world and help others. Here, I learn more than I learn in college... Lessons from life and for life.

Of course I believe there is a divine being who governs us and is responsible for all our existence. To me, this being is God! But I think that believe in God or in other being is more about trust and faith than religion... Believe or not believe is just a part of religion. Religion is more than that, religion is more than having a name of Catholics, Buddhist, Evangelical, etc ... Religion is reconnect with yourself or with people who devotedly are following and believing in something and doing the best to share it, to make this your way of life. We are the religion, we make our religion through beautiful words, beautiful movements and beautiful perceptions!!!

"Religion can be real only to those who are engaged in ceaseless efforts at moral improvement. By moving upward we acquire faith in an upward movement, without limit. This is my simple religion." ( Felix Adler )

"True religion is real living; living with all one's soul, with all one's goodness. All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom".  ( Albert Einstein )

Amazing Blog, Kim !!! Love you always ;) Rosekler, from Brazil  *_*

Sometimes it's hard to have faith when you feel trapped inside a box ...who is god, where is god are all questions that are always unanswered.

I just remembered a story, I don't know whether it really happened or it's just fake, but it's a pretty good one and I think it fits perfectly to the part where you talked about people who just pretend to be religious and so on:
Ok, there was a service in church and the pastor was talking about anything. then, suddenly there came a group of men running in, dressed in black with masks put on and guns in their hands. and they said: "whoever isn't willing to be shot in the name of God has to go now. everyone else has to stay in here!" so, a lot of people left and just a few stayed, willing to die for god. then, all the men took off their masks, sat down and said: "okay, pastor, all the hypocrites are gone. now you can go on and talk to people who are really here for god."

i just felt like sharing that with you :)

I disgree with this blog, but I hear your opinion.

Life has a purpose and like all things that have a purpose, they run under certain conditions and rules - pick any example from nature! That Higher Power must have ordained tests and trials in our path (the process of learning lessons like you say) and these trials and tests mean a thing they lead you to knowledge - wouldnt it be fantastic if that Higher Power had already told us that knowledge and guided us to a better path in life?

Well, we're lucky because thats what religion is. Religion isnt something that you do, like a stroll in the park or even undertaking a degree at university, Religion is a way of life, its a set of rules by which He wants you to live by because that is what is really good for you and you don't if that statement is really true until you experience it yourself.

Im in the process of writing a blog on "what faith means for me", its a question I get asked a lot, just as your blog shows!

Much Love

I am so glad you decided to blog about "religion". I think we all grow up in different cultures and different environments and depending on our families, we usually grow up following a certain religion or belief. Growing up my family has always been catholic, and yes I went to church and got confirmed and believed in it, because I didn't know anything else. When I started to grow up and mature, I realized that I do believe in god, but I don't believe or agree with everything that the catholic church was teaching. I would say my spirituality is based on many things. I do not feel I need to go to organized religion to feel a sense of spirituality. I believe also in the kabalah bracelet, which stands against the evil eye. Others judged me on that for a while saying why do you need to wear that to believe that? My question to them was, why do you have to wear a cross necklace to believe in god then? Religion is definately a confusing thing, but you can find spirituality through almost anything. Whatever that may be, I think as long as it fits you and your own personal beliefs and morals, then that is the best!

I cannot tell that I the religious person. I believe in God, and during the difficult moments of my life I pray on the best and when I am am overflowed with happiness I I try to thank him. All life I carry a cross on a neck, and never it I remove. But I all the same cannot tell that I religious.

I understand that in me there are bad qualities (which I try to change to the best), and I understand that having changed myself to the best, I probably will become an example for people which near to me.

"At the person in a shower a hole in size with God, and everyone fills it as can" - Sartre.

Ourselves fill ourselves with qualities, both bad and good. People who wish to possess high qualities struggle for them and who does nothing, that receives not the most good... All of us were born identical and all that occurs to us inside: formation of character, the human values, all it in something depends on us. We should not rely only on religion, think: I the religious person, mean all it should be good, no, and ourselves should do something! "Heavens do not help people who stay idle".

Really religious people very much love God, and all who did not read the bible, does not go to church on days off, they consider not worthy! I think that so I consider not all religious people, but many! They think that we are not worthy anything, we do not respect god... It not so, and I too do not understand it!

Thank you Kimberly! It is very important and serious theme. Which you give thanks for inspiration and love! I receive it, and it gives to me of forces, gives energy!! I never will cease to thank you!

I love you

paul

I'm not sure about my religion. I just believe in some things and question others. Sometimes I wonder about what happens after death, or where we'll go, or who is this God - If He's only power, or if He's like the Bible describes. But above all, I agree with you in saying that the most important religion is the love, understanding and certainty that we're not alone.
