Religion?
from Beautiful Movements added 7 June, 2009 at 08:50 AM

You call yourself a spiritual/religious person yet the choices you make are pure evil. You dwell in breaking others spirits because misery loves company. But I won’t let you get the best of me. My role in life was chosen for me, it is my bigger purpose and I have much responsibility that goes along with it. I have a gift. My truth and honesty moves people and the bigger picture means I can move mountains. I know my purpose in life is huge. I know my role is a stepping-stone for what’s to come and in the big scheme of things is a true blessing. I’m not hungry for fame, connection yes but fame no.
I’ve learned many lessons through self-perseverance. I know that the work on ourselves is one of the most important jobs we have. We owe it to ourselves. Whatever we leave not fixed becomes poison in our lives and then becomes the person that we are. Our choices create our character. Who do you want to be?
Flaws become our differences. The way we embrace them is what confidence becomes. When we live from a rotten core, too blind to see the light of day, we isolate ourselves from everything real, normal, and beautiful life has to offer. Not one person in this world is “perfect”. I may feel broken from time to time but I always do my best. When others feel broken I do my best to have compassion and when it calls for it, empathy.
Nobody’s actions in life are personal. Everything is based from our own perceptions. We create our own realities. We hold on to situations and judge them from what it makes us feel. There are sad people in this world. You can’t save them, only they can save themselves. But we can use the situations and feelings they stir in us to propel us to a better future.
I came to the conclusion that love and compassion is my religion a couple of years ago. As I see strong believers in a faith around me make less then what I perceive as moral choices, I grow further and further away from what truth I once tried to understand in them. The only control we have in life is control over ourselves and the only way to change people is to lead by example. To be the example of happiness you must stand your ground and always act on your truth and honesty.
The people around us are the key to knowledge. By being the observers in our own lives we can take lessons home with us every night. Some people lead by a good example others lead by negative choice driven by manipulation, greed and ego. By being aware of all that goes on in our own worlds we have the choice to create our own life. We create our own set of beliefs through our own religion. Does it make a difference what religion we follow? Isn’t the basic idea of religion a guideline to leading a happy life? Then why do people of faith look down upon people that ask questions? I understand believing in something much bigger then we are but in what way does a person of lesser understanding for the bible become unworthy?

Religion confusion. We all ask ourselves so many questions. Who is God? Do hell and heaven really exist? How can hell exist if God forgives us for all our mistakes? Why can't God save us like he saved his people as written in the ancient testament? Will there be the end of the world some day? Why is the world created then destroyed?
I know what you mean about the people who pretend to be spiritual and very religious. I can see those people around me. I don't want to be judgemental but it hurts to see how they can judge others and pretend to be nice only for fame or glory or just to give a good image. They are being dishonest towards themselves. They can go to church every sunday, listen to the priest but the words that they hear enter one ear and leave the other ear. The words must be put into actions. "Actions speak louder than words."
We all have different purposes on this earth and we all contribute to something big. Yet, many of us didn't find it out yet or we just can't see what's in front us of because we are blinded by evil. It's our job to fight against Evil and create a peaceful world.
Who do I want to be ? I want to be perfect. But by wanting to be perfect, i'm creating my own imperfection.... that's why nobody on this planet will ever be "perfect".
Religion is practised in so many different ways, but the similarity in all of them is that they all talk about love. Why do some people disrespect other religion practices when their own religion tells them to love and not to harm? Why do they fight because of that? Thinking that one religion is better than the other is a totally wrong idea. All religions are connected to something unique... something which has to be somewhere out there...a powerful force.
One of the things that i admire the most in you is your honesty. You act on honesty and truth, humility and love and compassion. You are a great example that happiness does exist. Your smile and your eyes show it all.
Thank you for bringing me to think about myself and about things around me. <3

I don't understand myself at times. Why do I pray more only during the hard times and not everyday? Do we pray in order to strengthen our faith? Do we pray knowing that someone is listening to us (no matter who it can be)?...Some people pray "Our father..." without knowing what they are saying, without knowing the true meaning. Just because they've been taught this prayer and because they know it by heart, the words don't mean anything to them anymore. Some even rush to say it...But yeah, i don't wanna judge, just pointing out something that i noticed

first off, this website sure has been a blessing in my life. (!!!) isn't it ironic because religion is supposed to be about living from love and light and inspiring others... yet fights and wars happen as a result. .and also i think that everyone has a different religion that helps them be a better person, be it music, art, a website, concerts, that inspires and makes them feel connected to God. two things my family can never talk about.... religion and politics.

I love this blog, it's amazing.
I dont follow a religion. I live by three things Love, Karma and Honesty. I believe in following my heart and I follow my heart in every decision i make, whether it turns out to be correct or not. I believe in Karma because it has yet to prove me wrong. Religion has it's faults but i believe Karma has none.
This part jumped out at me
" Flaws become our differences. The way we embrace them is what confidence becomes. When we live from a rotten core, too blind to see the light of day, we isolate ourselves from everything real, normal, and beautiful life has to offer."
The heart is always right, if there's a question of choosing between the mind and the heart, because mind is a creation of the society. It has been educated. You have been given it by the society, not by existence.
The heart is unpolluted.
I Love you Kim :)

Hmm...I'm slightly confused by this. But then again I'm confused by religion in general. I grew up with Christian parents, went to church every Sunday, but as I got older I stopped going and always find myself questioning Christianity as well as all other religions. I'd like to think there is a God, but then I also think I'm trying to force myself to believe there is just so I can have "life after death" if you get me? I found this, and thought it was interesting...A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death. I feel like I can kinda make sense of that, but then I feel "wrong" when I do. But I agree with you Kim, love and compassion should be the basis of all religion, and if you can't show love to others, what is the point in believing?

I think Religion is very important in our lives…
to me it's like a guide it’s a big leap of faith in Allah im Muslim and im proud to be my religion is the reason of my happiness… you feel so comfort to know that Allah have a plan for you he have plans for everybody… and to know that if the whole world gathered to hurt you they can't hurt you if Allah didn't meant for it to happen…

Sometimes it's kinda creepy how perfectly your blog entries fit! They always seem to come at the right time, when I need your words. :) A lot of people have been judging me because I don't know whether I should believe in God or not, I haven't figured that one out for myself yet. Some of them asked me how I could live without believing in God and I always say that it really doesn't matter to me whether you're living your life with faith in God or without it. The main thing is that you're happy with the way you live it - that's all that matters. I don't understand why some people are too focused on their own little world instead of accepting the other ones.
However, I like the thought of Happiness being a religion. Maybe this is what I've been feeling inside but couldn't phrase into words. Thank you again, for sharing your thoughts with all of us :)
looove. <3 <3
