Were you hiding behind the sofa???

In keeping with the Halloween theme from the weekend, I was wondering what everyone’s favourite scary film is?  Personally I’m rubbish with scary films and anything that makes you jump is no good as there will be popcorn flying guaranteed!

The scariest I have ever seen was The Grudge (how freaky was that noise!!!), but maybe that was because I was forced to watch it on the big screen!  My faves are the Saw films though.  I just think it’s a really clever story and although they are cringingly gross I quite like the psychological thriller aspect of them.  I love The Sixth Sense too, but I’m not sure if that can really be called a horror film?  Oh, and who could not like the old classic – Ghostbusters!  As a kid I was petrified of the lady in the library J

So, what is guaranteed to get you spooked???

Ghostbusters is a classic. I used to be scared of that fella in the painting in ghostbusters 2. I watched Paranormal Activity last night and I don't understand what all the fuss is about. For me, you can't beat the exorcist.

horror movies aren't for me! since the day i watched The exorcist, i promised myself not to watch any horror movie ever again, unless there's an actress or actor that i like, then i might watch it.

ah, i remember watching Scream 1 when i was a kid, i was eating my orange and the murderer came out of nowhere and that obviously freaked me out! and i dropped my orange. i laughed at myself after that though lol. funny times. i think Scream isn't bad, so i can watch that one again. But i cant watch anything like The Grudge or The Ring or Paranormal Activity.

I'm pretty sure nothing can beat The Exorcist too. it's like one of the worst things that ever happened to me when i watched it

You know what, I have never seen the whole of the Exorcist - I saw it in like, 20 minute block right up until she is about to be exorcised then I never saw the rest, I don't know why though as I wasn't really scared of it. Although I once thought I had been possessed though when I woke up and my bed was shaking... only to find out in the morning there had been a minor earthquake, hehe.

OMG I haven't seen Beetlejuice in yrs - that bit about death for the dead was well scary!!! I used to think Child's Play was really scary too as I saw it when I was about 10, only to see it again a few months ago and find it absolutely hilarious!

I remember that earthquake. Wondered what the hell was happening to my bed.  scared the life out of me.Thought i had a poltergist.

Can not watch salems lot (the one with David Soul in). Which is funny because i can watch most horror films. If you want a scary film Emily watch Evil Dead 1,2.  It's one of them films that is so scary aspecially Evil dead 2 that i can't help but LMFAO when they eye gets swallowed and he cuts his hand off with a chainsaw because it gets possesed.

Still today in the top rated effects is the physical effects is the floating book in the library in Ghostbusters. Inginuity still out ranks CG. Including now for this years " Paranormal Activity ".

Really well done physical effects. And they done their home work. Another Classic that is actually baseed on a true story is " The Entity " .

My older brother got freaked out the first time around on Stephen Kings " Pet Cemetery " .

Still thru fall and winter is the time for Ghost Stories. Including the Charles Dickens Classic, " A Christmas Carole ".  Good ole Scrooge - .

One that I put into the mix for Holiday Must Sees is " Scrooged " with Bill Murray. A comical approach to the story. Love it.        )

Hey Bonzo, yeah the Exorcist was on the scary end, Oh yeah, and the Damien movies.

Beattlejuice is on the fun side to me. I use to impersonate the seen where Michael Keaton is supposedly throwing his voice thru Gina Davis. Funny. My mom thought it was just gross to hear the title.

BAG said 17 days ago:

Two of the best horror flicks of all time are "The Excorsist", and "The Shinning" with Jack Nicholson, I thought he did such a good job in that movie. HEEEERE"S JOHNNY!!! The movie "Event Horizon" also gave me the creeps.

Pharanormal Activity looks pretty damn crazy though I must say (especially since I have actually heard a ghost once), so I probably won't be seeing that one.

shauney said 17 days ago:

Hey Bag, saw "Paranormal Activity" Last night and yes its probably a good idea you dont watch it if you believe in Ghosts!!!  I ended up watching it in bed by myself and bad idea!!! LOL couldnt sleep for hours.

The Shining freaked me out too, especially the part when the little boy starts saying "REDRUM, REDRUM"
